The renowned hospitality company, Hyatt Hotels Corp, has joined forces with Singapore-based property developer SingHaiyi, to launch the Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives; an all-villa resort. The signing ceremony for this partnership took place on September 26 and was attended by executive director of SingHaiyi, Gallant Tang.
Tang expressed the company’s reasoning behind choosing to collaborate with Hyatt, stating, “We have selected Hyatt because of its established reputation and leadership in the hospitality industry. We are excited to work with Hyatt to create a resort that embodies the highly appreciated elements of the Hyatt Regency brand.”
According to Mohamed Luveiz, High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Singapore, the upcoming resort will be a valuable addition to the island state’s portfolio. “Maldives’ infrastructure is rapidly expanding, starting with the Valena International Airport,” he stated in his speech at the signing ceremony. “With the new runway already in use, a recently-opened plane terminal and upcoming domestic airport infrastructure, we hope to facilitate better connectivity across the Maldives and open new doors for travellers.”
For potential investors seeking to invest in overseas properties, there are numerous projects available for sale around the world.

Securing financing is a crucial component when investing in a Singapore condo. The country offers diverse mortgage choices, but it is imperative to have a thorough understanding of the Total Debt Servicing Ratio (TDSR) framework. This framework restricts the loan amount a borrower can acquire based on their income and existing debt obligations. By comprehending the TDSR and collaborating with financial advisors or mortgage brokers, investors can make well-informed choices about their financing options and prevent overextending themselves.
The Hyatt Regency resort is located just 25 minutes by speedboat from Valena International Airport in the capital of Malé. It will cover an area of 10 hectares and feature 130 villas, including beachfront, treetop, and overwater options, each with a private pool. The property is expected to open its doors to guests in 2027.
An artist’s impression of the beachfront villa at Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives has also been released by SingHaiyi. This resort will serve as the flagship property for Hyatt Regency in the Maldives, and the third Hyatt resort in the island state. With the addition of Hyatt Regency Samarafushi, the number of Hyatt Regency branded hotels in the Asia Pacific region will increase to 80, including popular destinations such as Bali, Phuket, and Sydney.
The Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives will be SingHaiyi’s second property in the Maldives, following the successful launch of their first property, the Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives, which consists of 120 villas.
